Vacation travel and hotel reservations - Since 9/11 there have been many measures made to help protect passengers, flight attendants and pilots when flying on planes. Now there are certain items prohibited on flights. To help make your traveling experience stress free and a good experience you should take the time to review TSA and airport security rules. Obviously explosives and weapons or anything that could be used as a weapon are not allowed. Every country has their own set of rules so you need to ask for a detailed listing of forbidden items when traveling abroad.
In your carry on bags do not plan to bring any sharp objects including things such as tweezers, razors and pocket knives. Explosives of any sort are prohibited such as hair sprays and lighters. Gels and creamy substances are also prohibited. These include items such as food with a creamy or gel substance,lip gloss, suntan lotions and mascara. Lithium batteries have also been banned unless they are installed in electronic equipment. Liquids of 3 oz or less are allowed and need to be in a quart size zip lock bags and each passenger is allowed only one bag. Exceptions to the liquid rule are medications, juice, baby formula and breast milk and only as long as they are a reasonable amount.
Your checked luggage should be packed neatly in rows for easier x-ray. Liquids and gels should be put into zip lock bags to prevent leaking onto garments. You should not pack any wrapped gifts as they might have to be unwrapped and checked for security reasons. Sports equipment, self defense items and tools are allowed in your checked bags only.
