How does radiation travel through windows or walls?

The question i have is how does radiation from cell phones etc., travel through the window of my car. Into my house and through the walls. I was under the impression of looking at this as a solid passing through a solid? Thats why i’m a little confused. How can something made up of particles that need to keep form i guess pass through solids? Thanks in advance.

    1. Starrysky says:

Electromagnetic radiation like radio waves are not solid. They are vibrations propogating through electromagnetic fields.
You are confused because sometimes radiations like photons behave like particles, sometimes like a wave phenomenon. They are like “wavicles”. At different frequencies in the EM spectrum, different characteristics dominate.
